Wildcard: Creativity
This is my selected piece for the wildcard category of creativity. My goal was to intersect traditional and modern art. In one of my art history classes, I found It very interesting that Michelangelo described sculpting as uncovering a figure and creating a moving narrative from a still statue. From his mindset, I was inspired to take one of his works, "Statue of David" and further create movement through color and rigid lines. I wanted the piece to have energy behind it. I used my own interpretation of light and dark from the statue and colorized it. It was very challenging to try and create a still design that looked as though it was moving but I found it very engaging and fun to play around with.
